New 9200 IP-Phone Series from Allworx Brings a New Level of
Productivity and Ease-of-Use to the SMB Market

Hi-Fidelity Audio, Professional Design, and One-Touch Features Help SMBs “Be Everywhere” with Allworx

EAST ROCHESTER, N.Y., January 23, 2008 — Allworx, the small-to-medium business phone and network solutions company, today announced the new Allworx 9200 phone series, which consists of the top-of-the-line 9212, and the affordable 9202 IP-phones. These new high-end phones complement the award-winning Allworx 9112 and 9102 phones, and offer customers a broader set of features with a sleek and intuitive design and the highest fidelity audio available without requiring extended protocols. The Allworx 9200 series was previewed for the media at the CES “Showstoppers” event in Las Vegas , on January 7, and is on display at IT Expo, in booth Number 411, all this week in Miami .

The Allworx 9200 series is designed to bring a new level of simplicity and ease-of-use to the SMB market. Common calling functions that are used on a day-to-day basis (such as checking messages, conferencing functions, and moving calls via hold, redial and transfer) are now accessible via one-touch programmable keys. The 9212 supports up to 12 call appearances and the 9202 supports up to two call appearances. Both phones are able to distinguish between different calls via unique ring tones and monitor multiple voicemail boxes.

Presence management has also been simplified via one touch day and night modes, and every Allworx phone supports the Allworx “Follow-Me-Anywhere” call routing procedures, allowing calls to be easily routed to multiple extensions, locations, or users, depending on their schedules and physical locations. Further, with full integration of cell phones in Allworx systems, users can “be everywhere” and still be in touch with their business.

The 9200 series of phones includes a Hi-Fidelity Voice Handset with new static and interference-eliminating capabilities that provide audio with extraordinary warmth and depth. This advance in sound technology by Allworx delivers a true ‘face-to-face' experience that provides the utmost in voice quality.

Every feature in the 9200 phone series is accessible in a simple and straightforward fashion, with minimal programming required. Much like their award-winning predecessors, the 9200 series features a plug and play set up enabling remote users access to every feature regardless of whether they set their phone up in the office, at home, or anywhere on the road.

“With the 9200 and existing 9100 series phones, we're delivering functionality that enables our phones to behave like a key system, PBX system, or a mix of the two,” said George Daddis, President of Allworx. “Whether calls come through CO lines, T-1/PRI or the Internet, we're able to provide true key system line appearances, enabling the type of call management functionality that SMBs have been using for years.”

The flagship Allworx 9212 IP phone is designed for executives who receive a high volume of calls. It includes a built-in RJ-11 headset port, a hi-fidelity speakerphone, a significantly wider display screen, and four dynamic soft keys that guide users through all of the features and functions. The Allworx 9202 IP phone offers the same hi-fidelity handset and VoIP capabilities, but comes in a compact design and a price point targeted towards users with a smaller volume of calls. Both phones complement each other in a way that helps resellers meet the communications needs - and the budgets – of their SMB customers.

A Seamless Extension to the Allworx IP-PBX Servers
All Allworx IP phones work in a seamless fashion with the award-winning Allworx systems – 6x, 24x, and 10x. The latest system software (version 6.8) provides an array of unified communications capabilities, such as “follow-me-anywhere” features, which route incoming calls to multiple Allworx SIP phones, or externals numbers - including full system integration of mobile phones. Additional features include simplified off-site access calling, voicemail escalation, SMS notification for messages, and a host of other features that improve productivity while projecting a professional image, regardless of where their employees are located.

Enhanced Scalability
Available in the second quarter of 2008, the Allworx family of servers will soon include the Allworx Px 6/2 Expander, which increases the power of the Allworx 6x and 24x systems, enabling businesses to simultaneously add up to six FXO ports for new CO lines, and two additional analog FXS ports, for fax machines, alarm lines, or conference room phones. Up to three Port Expanders can be used in tandem - in a plug-and-play fashion, to expand the capacity of the 6x and 24x by as many as 18 CO lines if necessary.

“With more than 50,000 users of our products, we're acknowledging the demand for added scalability with the Px 6/2 Expander, which helps small business owners expand the capacity of their communications systems with traditional telephone lines” said Daddis. “The combination of our newest IP phones, the latest software update to our IP-PBX systems, and our forthcoming Port Expander provides our resellers and distributors with a complete set of solutions for any sized SMB.”
