As of release 7.2.5.1, PIN Codes can be 2 to 20 digits in length and as an option with 7.2.10.1 can have validation disabled.
If disabled, PIN code entries must match the digit length to be considered a valid entry.
What is the format of the PIN Code?
Must be 5 digits in length. Length is not adjustable.
What is involved in the setup and use of Audit PIN Codes?
Create the PIN Code on the Phone System > Audit PIN Codes page:
- Optionally force users to use PIN Codes when seizing outside lines by configuring their handset's Seizing Rule via the Phone System > Handsets > Modify page.
- Define which outside line Service Groups are to be used when calls are placed using PIN Codes. This is done via the Phone System > Dial Plan page.
- Place a call from a handset by dialing 78 + PIN Code + Phone Number. For Example, when calling "555-1212" using PIN Code “77777 ", a user would dial the sequence 78 + 77777 + 5551212.
Can Call Detail Reporting be used to view/identify calls that have been placed using Audit PIN Codes?
Yes. Tracking of outside line usage by an individual's Audit PIN Code can be monitored in Call Detail Records Reports via Reports > Call Detail Reports.
